Nous sommes les 3ème Aragon et nous créons ce blog pour pouvoir communiquer par écrit et par oral (via des vidéos) avec nos correspondants américains. Notre collège, l’Externat Sainte-Anne compte près de 1000 élèves, de la maternelle au collège, et se situe à Montesson en région parisienne. Nous espérons que vous allez prendre plaisir à consulter notre blog et nous attendons avec impatience les messages à notre attention.

We are the year 10 Aragon students and we have created this blog to communicate in writing and orally (via videos) with our American penpals. Our secondary school, St Anne’s has about 1000 pupils ranging from Nursery to year 10 and is located in Montesson in the suburbs of Paris.

the tennis (antonin)

Hello,
I want to talk you about my favorite sport: the tennis.
The tennis was born on 1858 in England.
Tennis is a very physical sport but very enjoyable.This sport is played in three "sets" which are composed of six "games", each composed themselves of four points: 15, 30, 40 and Game.
The girls play with only two games.
There is a total of eleven arbitrators: -one main arbitrator
                                                            -ten "lines" arbitrators
There is also "ball boys" but only in tournaments.
The number one in tennis for the time being is Novac Djokovic.
I think the tennis is a great sport and I play it every week.

"This sport is played in three sets"

Vous avez 3 sur 5 sets pour gagner dans le tennis pour hommes, mais 2 sur 3 sets à gagner dans le tennis pour femmes.

For the verb "to play", do you use gagner?

I add that there are four big tournaments, called "Grand Chelem": they are Australian Open, in Australia, Roland-Garros, in France, Wimbledon, in England, and US Open. A woman won the four in the same year, in 1970, but no one has ever succeeded in men's tennis.
